What this policy is about. It covers our internal Instagram messaging integration — the application our team uses to read and answer direct messages sent to our Instagram account.

It is not about browsing this website. The website has no sign-up forms and no advertising pixels. It does carry two visitor counters, Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica. They set cookies in your browser and send their providers data about the visit: which pages you opened, what device and browser you used, which country you came from and which link brought you here. Yandex Metrica additionally records how you moved around a page - mouse movement, clicks, how far you scrolled. Neither counter learns your name, phone number or email - there is nowhere on the site to enter them. We use them to see what people read, where the text stops working and where they find us. One more technical note, for accuracy: one page of the site is password-protected for our own team, which sets a sign-in marker in the browser there. Apart from the counters, the site loads no resources from third-party servers - fonts and images are served from our own domain. If you would rather stay out of the statistics, an ad blocker stops counters like these.

2. What this application does

This application is used internally by our own team to read and manage the direct messages (DMs) sent to our own Instagram professional account (@thatsame.school). It helps us read incoming inquiries, organise them, and respond to people who write to the school. We do not offer this application to other businesses or third parties.

3. What data we access

Through the official Instagram Platform API, and only for our own Instagram account, we access:

  • the content of direct messages sent to our account;
  • the username and basic public profile of the sender;
  • timestamps of messages.

We do not access data unrelated to messages we receive on our own account.

4. Why we access it

  • To read and understand incoming inquiries from people interested in the school.
  • To reply to those inquiries and provide customer support.
  • To organise and summarise our inbox so we don't miss messages.

5. How data is stored and protected

  • Access keys (tokens) are stored privately and are never shared publicly.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share message data with any third party.
  • Data is used only by the school's own team for the purposes above.

6. Data retention

We keep message data only as long as needed to handle the conversation and provide support. You can ask us to delete data related to your conversation at any time.

7. Your rights

You can contact us at info@thatsame.school to:

  • ask what data related to your conversation we hold;
  • request deletion of your conversation data.

8. Data deletion requests

To request deletion of any data we hold about you, email info@thatsame.school with the subject "Data deletion request" and the Instagram username you used. We will delete the relevant data.

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
